The Review: Radical Skincare

You might remember that a few weeks ago I talked about about living a Radical Life in this Monday Motivation post. I had attended a vision board event with Radical Skincare and received a few samples of the products to try out.

Radical Skincare was created by Liz and Rachel Edlich, and it's a brand that focuses on delivering active ingredients and products that work to give you radical results

One of the key things about the products is their patented Trylacel Technology which is a suspension technology that works to keep the antioxidant and anti-aging ingredients active and potent within each product.  It focuses on delivering three main functions to your skin:
  1. Antioxidant complex
  2. Repair actives
  3. Skin calming
You can read more about it here

The products I tried were the Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum, Multi Brightening Serum, Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture and Skin Perfecting Sunscreen SPF 30
Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum

This is a super antioxidant serum that is absolutely jam packed with beneficial ingredients. It contains 15 antioxidants which help to provide a defence against free radical damage and aging. The antioxidants used are found in nature’s dark night shade fruits such as coffee berry, acai, grapeseed and pomegranate

It's a beige brown colour, reflective of the antioxidant ingredients and I found that it blended easily into my skin. I applied this first in the routine and found that my skin seemed smoother and firmer.

It retails at £125 for 30ml

Multi Brightening Serum

I applied this after applying the Advanced Peptide Serum. I really liked the texture and silkiness of the serum and it contains a great combination of active ingredients that are known for their brightening abilities such as Niacinamide and Salicylic Acid

I only had a small sample of 8ml which I used twice a day so can't really attest to the brightening effect on my skin as I would have needed to use it for a little longer to really see how effective it could be. However I did feel that again it made my skin smoother and firmer and gave a bit of luminosity to my tone.

It retails at £95 for 30ml

Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture

One of my favourite products from the line, it’s described as being able to increase hydration by 66% in just 2 weeks, fight free radicals, decrease wrinkle depth as well as combat dark spots and even out your skin tone. Now that’s a lot of promises for one moisturiser to deliver. Again, I only had a small 2 small samples of 8ml, but even in the short time that I used it I can say my skin felt more supple and hydrated without my usual combination skin dry spots. Although it doesn't say you can use it under your eyes, I did and found that my makeup didn't settle into any of my fine lines.

It retails at £100 for 50ml

Skin Perfecting Sunscreen SPF 30

A chemical free sunblock with an SPF 30, it was another one of my favourite products from the line, it was so lightweight and easy to apply. I found that it blended in beautifully without leaving a white cast. Word of warning though, a little does go a long way especially on darker skin tones or you could get a faint tone. It's not heavy at all or pore clogging, which is one of my pet peeves with sunscreens and applying my makeup afterwards I felt it blended in well to look seamless.

It retails at £38 for 40ml

I really liked the products. I saw an improvement in my skins appearance and smoothness. I also found them to be extremely gentle and non irritating despite containing a high number of active ingredients.

I was initially a little nervous when I started using the range considering that my skin is sometimes prone to getting irritated, however my skin was fine. In fact my skin seemed to love and drink up the products and applying makeup afterward was an absolute dream. Overall my skin has been a lot smoother and has a nice glow and luminosity to it.

In regards to some of the key promises and benefits it claims to offer, I would have needed to use the products for a lot longer (I only used them for about 2 weeks as they were small samples), to really assess the results and claims for evening out my skin tone, fading discolorations, etc. but so far I’m really loving the results that I did get.
