#64 Mo'Nique at the Golden Globes

Ok I feel really caught in the middle here – on one hand I have to stand up and clap for Mo’Nique who won Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes for her role as Mary Jones in Precious – where she played an abusive mother (I have heard fantastic reviews about this film and although I expect it has a few harrowing scenes, I can’t wait to see it) she looked incredibly chic and elegant in her gold dress. On the other hand I am holding my hands over my eyes and saying “Oh no you didn’t!!!– Why! Why! Why! – would you go out looking that fantastic with funnily enough, perfectly pedicured toenails, but not wax those hairs off your legs – if you even want to go with the excuse that you are wearing a long dress so your legs are not on show – then what on earth were you thinking of when you lifted up your dress to display them to a snap happy party of paparazzi who were only too willing to send those pictures off before you had dropped the dress back down.

I can sympathise though – in winter it’s all too easy to avoid the trip down to get your legs done especially if you have sadist waxer like I have, who smiles when she does it (think of the scene in the 40 year old virgin) …

Anyhu – based on her amazing performance in Precious and her incredibly moving acceptance speech which brought tears to my eyes when I heard it – I think I’m going to stick with clapping. What do you guys think?
